Brandon Cash, DVM
Practice owner, Veterinarian

Dr. B.J. Cash is an Alabama native growing up in Hueytown, AL, but has strong family times with Lamar County. His father Gilbert was born and raised in Millport. Dr. Cash obtained his undergraduate and veterinary training at Mississippi State University and graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine in 1994. He has worked in multiple areas of veterinary medicine throughout his career in both private practice and emergency / specialty veterinary practice. He was also the Chief Medical Officer with The Greater Birmingham Humane Society, which during his tenure began a partnership with Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine to train 4th year Veterinary Medical Students in soft tissue surgery and shelter medicine.

Dr. Cash purchased Animal Care Center of Vernon in January 2017. Dr. Cash lives in Vernon with his wife of 28 years, Amy. They have two adult children. Their daughter Becca lives in Greensboro, NC and is in her 2nd year of a of a PhD program in Clinical Counselling. Their son Zac, lives in Toney Alabama and is a full time student at University of Alabama-Huntsville and a part-time youth pastor at Lacey Springs United Methodist Church.

Amy Cash
Practice Manager

Amy started at Animal Care Center in January 2017 part time, then full time in March of 2018. Prior to Animal Care Center, Amy worked in veterinary sales as well as managing several veterinary practices in Alabama and Mississippi. She is currently working on her Certified Veterinary Practice Manager degree. She shares her four dogs and two cats with Dr. BJ. Their dogs are Eliot and Harper, the Great Danes and Hugo and Wally, the terrier mixes. The two cats, Emerson and Bea round out the critter clan. When not at work, Amy enjoys reading.

Kathy
Receptionist

Kathy started at Animal Care Center in June of 2016. She is a mom to 3 Yorkies, Maxx, Maci and Sophie. She also has 2 labs, Garret and Yellow, a feist named Ruby as well as Koda and English Setter. Her cat Gizmo rounds out her fur babies. When not at work, she likes to bass fish.

Makayla
Technician

Makayla started at Animal Care Center in 2012 when she was in high school. Makayla is currently enrolled in an online veterinary technician program. Outside of work, she enjoys playing video games, and spending time with her family. Her pets include Doodle, Jack Seal and Bubba in the dog pack and the cats include Bell, Thomas, Baby Grey and Moosa.

Sarah
Technician

In September of 2009, Sarah started at Animal Care Center. She always wanted to work with animals and was able to fulfill that dream when she started working here. She has one cat named Lou Lou, one puppy named Boss and a horse named Freckles. When she is not playing with her pets, she loves to spend time with her family, going to church and horseback riding.
